Strata is a lyrical excavation of the spaces, architecture and infrastructure collage of the outer boroughs of New York City using the panoramic format. The format is meant to reveal and question the paradox of the horizon; its openness as well as its tendency to constrict in an urban environment undergoing rapid change. Themes of transport, efficiency, solitude and allusions to a past history vaguely known instill a state of mind inhabiting a kind of perpetual trajectory in which we are merely passengers and spectators.
