Fire Water Breath is a wandering in Lourdes, France. It’s about trying to capture tension between popular devotion and religious control, between sincere faith and overplayed emotion, between mystic experience and mass tourism, between ghostly figures and life-size forged human beings. It’s also a personal pilgrimage, a private quest, in which I look for the remains of my grandmother’s superstitious, pagan-christianity.
